On Heights Blvd.
Classic Victorian in the Queen
Anne style. Built in 1910, this historic deeded property was
purchased by J. C. Stiel in 1911 and resold to J. C. Matthews in
1912.
This elegantly appointed home was lovingly restored by Chris and
Nikki Thornton, owners of the home from 1997 until 2007. The
Thornton's carefully maintained the home's historical integrity
while incorporating modern upgrades and a two-story addition.
Features include a grand foyer, formal living/dining rooms,
fabulous kitchen with tin ceiling, built-in banquette and a
large great room. Some great turn-of-the-century features
include: high ceilings, Victorian woodwork, a great front porch
overlooking the Boulevard and an original star inlaid in the
hardwood floor of the entrance hall. Modern touches include: a
kitchen with stainless appliances, granite countertops and
glass-front cabinets, a large master suite and an enormous
"great room" with built-in cabinetry, a fireplace and French
doors opening onto the deck and back yard for entertaining.
