This Heights bungalow was built in 1920, as part of the Houston Heights development. Over the years it changed very little, until the 1980s. In 1985 it was purchased by Martin Bledel, who added on the back of the house and created dormers so the
attic space could be occupied. Martin and his wife Nannette had two children, the oldest of which is Alexis Bledel, an actress who is best known for her role as Rory in The Gilmore Girls. She and her brother grew up in
the house. A family purchased the home in 1995. The new owners purchased
a patch of land to the north and were able to add an attached garage.
They rebuilt much of the house and planted the bald cypress trees and fruit trees.
